My New Lens Maid at Work while its Raining Bokeh (C&C Really Welcome/Desired!)
Lens: Pentax-A 50/1.7 Camera: K20D Photo Location: My House ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F2.8
Posted By: adr1an, 08-04-2011, 10:29 AM

I hired a new Lens Maid to help keep the small collection spick and span!
Unfortunately - it was starting to rain Bokeh so she had to move everything inside again.

Ok I was bored

But I'd really like some C&C on this since I did give it some effort in the end even though it was playing around originally... even gave the DiagonalMethod Composition a go...
Could have done with some more fill light I think on the right side of the image around the lenses.. but I did also want to keep it 'dark'...

(P.s... yes - it was a lot of trial and error to get the 18-55 appearing inside the M50/2 )

Taken with my recently cleaned Pentax-A 50/1.7

Strobist Info:
1 x YN-560 on Stand, Camera Left High, 50mm Zoom, 1/64, Slave Triggered
1 x YN-560 on Stand through Shoot-Through Umbrella Camera Right High, 28mm Zoom, 1/32, RF602 Triggered
1 x Sigma 500DG Camera Rear Left on Box, 1/32, 50mm Zoom, with 1/8" Grid, Optical Slave

I very much like it. It has a 3D quality. To be quite honest, I never noticed the writing in the middle until you pointed it out. I think it is because that is sort of secondary and your composition and idea is quite good. I would only suggest cloning out the red half circle behind the back of the maid, as I find it distracting in otherwise well executed image. And, by the way, do Samsung lenses fit on Pentax cameras?

Well done presenting these lenses in this light.
Good use of the prop too.

I regularly had "I am here to clean Ze Lenses" running through my head...

Yes - Don't know how I missed that. I'll fix it up shortly.
Re Samsung lenses - Yes, as long as they are from the GX10 or GX20 line, which was the short lived 2 year 'co-operation' deal between Pentax/Samsung that saw the K10/K20 released in a Samsung Branded Body (with slight nuances to firmware) meaning there was also K-Mount kit lenses released with Samsung Branding.

Thanks - I was worried people would find it too contrived... I was quite happy with it despite the number of 'cliches' in the image - But I still haven't found my feet enough to break out of re-interpreting elements I see in others images...

Fixed up the bit of cropped bokeh behind the figurine and relinked above. Its amazing how much impact a small red dot (or lack of!) can have
