[15 imgs] Two months of daytime long exposure fun
Lens: DA15, what else? Camera: K-x and K-5 Photo Location: Melbourne ISO: 100
Posted By: twitch, 08-09-2011, 08:53 PM

This is a collection of images I've been shooting in the past 2 months during lunchtimes or commutes home, all long exposures achieved through the use of ND filters. It's been a fun learning experience, me and my mini tripod and 6 & 10 stop ND filters are now well acquainted

If you are a reader of the "DA15 controls my mind" thread then don't read any further, you've probably seen all of these before

Great photography, the ND filters seem to be the ticket for daytime photos such as yours. Looks like that will go on my list for daytime lightning shots. I really enjoyed viewing this series, thanks Bob

Good work twitch.
The long exposures transform these scenes.
Very surreal.

Sure, thanks. I used a DA15 with a 10 stop ND filter screwed on it and mounted the camera on a table top tripod. I started with ISO100, f/16, 15s settings and then adjusted shutter speed from there for correct exposure. I then processed the B&W's through silver efex. Hope that helps.

This is an excellent, marvelous series. For some reason the B&W gives much drama to the pictures.

Thanks for sharing, you make me want to take out my filters and experiment with them again.

Great shots! Superb architecture shots, and I like that carousell wheel really much too. Well done!
