Hello All:

Took a few portraits over Thanksgiving with my kids and my sisters kids. As always, C&C is welcome. The first is of all 4 of them, converted to B&W with the Andy plugin for Bibble. The second is just my sisters kids, she wanted a shot for her Christmas card. The third is an available light of my sister. All three were with the 50mm 1.4 (great lens).

Nice family shots Kevin . I love the first one and that will be a wall hanger for sure. Looks like the last one there is some pretty intense concentration going on there - some last minute Turkey preparations perhaps?

Agreed. But let me guess, the lad in the second shot has the same look as his mom and the lass is like papa in the background on the second pic right?

I could live with the first although it has a depth of field problem and way too much background. As for the second and third, portraiture can be about both expression and story; go to the back of the camera, change the focus point to one that is off center and try again.
