Are you the one that feeds me?
Lens: DA 300mm Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Our backyard ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F6.7

This is the first year, I really made an effort with the hummingbirds around. There are lots of hummingbird plants in our yard, but I also added feeders this time. It seems to me as if the little guys know who I am now. This one just flew up to me while I was taking photos of a butterfly and put on a show right there. Then he sat in the fence and just looked straight at me. All this was at the most 8 feet away from me. Sure made my day.

Really good. Especially 1 and 4, though the fence in the background is a bit disturbing on number 4. Thanks for sharing. I wish we had these creatures here.

Hi Douglas, I am from Europe originally as well and some of the birds here are very colorful and very different here. They are quite fascinating. Thank you for your comments.
Greetings,
Tina

You are lucky to be able to observe them growing up. I only see the females here. Our yard has many flowers that these birds like so I have seen them around for years but I do not recall ever seeing a male.

Good work Tina.
Few people can get these birds sharply rendered as you have, so has off to you.

Thanks to all of you!

Thank you, Ash. But honestly, this was luck. I just happened to have the right lens, and the right camera in my hand at the time. Our area has been very dry, therefore I am providing food and water for the animals. Our yard right now is a high traffic area for birds and many squirrels.
Greetings,
Tina
