Just got the lens so, I had to try. I may have overlooked a few technical points in my exuberance..

1.
2.
3.
4.

I am hungry for some Sashimi now.

It certainly is and a lot lighter than my FA*300F2.8.
How ever it is not a good lens for BIFs and does not lock in the focus like FA 300 does.

Thanks.

Thank you crew.
Make some time to visit Bolsa Chica. Pretty soon the Pelicans will start their feeding frenzy routine.

I was out for the first time with my Sigma 150-500 and shot a cormorant fishing. Unfortunately, my cormorant wasn't doing too well, I never saw him with a fish.

I was disappointed with the sharpness, but frankly I think they were a bit sharper than yours. Looking at the exif, you had a little more light. Am I being too picky?

Not at all. When I took these shots I had the lens fully extended and we all know that this lens is a bit soft at the long end.
I thought they were a bit soft too but, considering the distance I was pleased with the out come.
I took some shots of GBH fishing on Sunday keeping the zoom between 300-400 and the pictures came out quite sharp, I think. I will post them later.

Thank you.
