I'm going to Staples tonight to have a Panoramic picture made to see how it prints out.I'll probably want the height to be around 10" which would make the length somewhere around 48" The pano was made from 4 shots taken at 190mm and "autostich" was used. The pic that I'm taking to Staples is 75.73 mb and it measures 23000x4000.The other shot for perspective is a single shot of Rte 1 taken at 55mm.I hope that I have all the bases covered and would appreciate any comments or suggestions before I head out tonight.--charliezap

I'm not seeing anything that stands out which would prevent a good print from being made.

Oddly, though, when I first looked at your pic, I thought, "dang, that looks like Rt. 1!"... which it is, of course, but you're in MA and I'm in NJ, and I've never been to MA...

My comment would be "why"?
The size of the print won't be cheap - or will it?
Why not do something more "Panoramic" worthy?

When I look at the pano shot in PSP and magnify the shot in different areas it does look darn good so I'm hoping that it will print out nicely. It's going to cost about $30 which isn't too bad since they charge $7.95 per sq. ft.--charliezap

Apparently, you have no appreciation of the beauty of northeast traffic!

Seriously, though, the shot might not be "pretty", but I guarantee that if Charlie hangs that in a place that is well-trafficked (pun intended!) people will stop to look at it. And, IMHO, that's easily worth $30.

A friend of mine is the manager at Papa Ginos in the shot and it works out for me--"pizzas for pictures" and mainly I'm interested to see how all the details like signage comes out as far as IQ is concerned.--charliezap

Charlie, do you know of a company that prints pano photos so that they could be put into a photo book? We will be in Colorado next month and I thought about a panorama of the Rocky Mountains and areas that have green in them. thanks Bob

Not really sure, but I would guess 4"x12" or so.

I've only immersed myself in panos since last week and I'm learning more each day.So far I know that Staples can print them out and I believe Ritz can do them.Anyone else have a suggestion for Bob?--charliezap

I just picked up the pano from Staples and it blew me away.It is 10" by 54" and you can read all the signs. The detail is incredible. The tech says there is resolution to burn. They make at Staples a vinyl photo 2'x5' with brass grommets at the corners for $69.My pic was $30 and I'm confident that If I had one made at 24" vertical by who knows how long that the quality would be right there. The k5 keeps on impressing me.--charliezap

A neat idea, Capn - I like "slice of life" photos and don't recall one as a pano.

An astute observation - something I've noticed about certain highways myself, but never put into a concrete thought. US 41 is such a road.
