UV filter only-pretty standard lens protection; good at the mile high elevation of Albuquerque. There isn't much of a trick. AIBF starts every day (in early October) for ten days (weather permitting) at about 4:00AM. These were shot shortly after sunrise-maybe 6:00am to 7:30am--check the EXIF, I left it intact and the camera is regularly reset to the correct MDT/MST.
Clean air, deep blue skies and 700+ hot air balloons---it's a photographer's paradise!
