Just a single bird...
Posted By: Tom Lusk, 12-17-2006, 05:37 PM

No sun again today, and I managed just one bird shot - a white-breasted nuthatch:

Taken just before dark in windy conditions. Pentax K100/Pentax FA*300. f 4.5 @1/30th. ISO 400. Handheld.

I'm blaming the softness on the wind-caused movement of the perch/bird , not the slow shutter speed.

Not a bad shot, but IMO it could use a bit more color overall.

I agree with MO, good shot, but pushing the colour up a bit wouldn't hurt..

Hey Tom. Last post of yours (nuthatch) was through the window. This time, it is even sharper than last time. This is definitely sharp, whole bird within the frame and the whole bird is in focus. Great shot.

Maybe contrast 10+ or something may help as others suggested.

But I like how it is shown here

Cheers

I don't know what color he is supposed to be, so it looks good to me. Great pose, nice capture.
Thanks for posting

Creamy is the word that comes to mind on this shot. Really accents the subject nicely as well as the seed stalk. Boost the color and you will have a nice shot here.
