Not sure about migration. Some say they do, some say they stay. This pair laid 5 eggs and all survived and flew off. Last year they raised two families. This year only one, and we haven't seen them since that first group left the nest.

The Painted Buntings usually leave in August headed back to Mexico and this year they left on the 11th of August with the first north wind.
