Sunset Pano
Lens: DA 12-24 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Elk Island ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/30s Aperture: F11

Here's a 7 shot hand held pano tonight of Ashton Lake at sunset. Stitched together with Photoshop CS4 , processed in Lightroom III. I think this one might make it to print - not sure on what Canvas or paper , how do colors turn out on Canvas ?

As a side note the mosquitos have been bad here this year. Tonight they raised the bar to a whole new level. Deep Woods Off was like an elixer to these little pests. I have never, ever seen them that bad. The things we go through for our hobbies

Pleasant scene Dave.
This one could sure make it on canvas - if the horizon were made straight and the colours were exemplified some more to brighten up the canvas.

Dave, I like the size of this pano, so many that have 20 pics stitched together are so slim, you can't really see what is in the photo. I like the reflection here in this kickback, grab a beer scene. Bob

"not sure on what Canvas or paper , how do colors turn out on Canvas ? "

You have to think "painting", you want the photograph to look like a painting. You aren't going to have as much contrast or brightness as you do on a print, so we tend to make a file, just for the canvas, and bump the exposure 1/4 to 1/2 stop, bump the saturation maybe 10-20 photoshop numbers, and bump the contrast a bit too, but very carefully.

That's been our experience in any case.

I'd have to look to be sure, but, probably no. I find taking 3 exposures 1.5 EV apart, will give me an exposure that can be just as good as an HDR, and since HDR on my K-x is jpeg only, I tend to stay away from it. One touch bracketing is much more to my liking. I've yet to take an HDR that was better than what I could do with the best exposure in a bracketed shot. I keep trying though.
