A Stab in the Dark (B&W vs. Color)
Lens: DA 70 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Next to Our Garage ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/250s Aperture: F11
Posted By: Sailor, 08-21-2011, 11:17 AM

This morning I noticed the "point" of an amaryllis "blade" selectively illuminated by the sun in what otherwise was a shady spot at that time of day. I used spot metering to isolate it from the background. I intended from the beginning that the shot would be B&W, but decided to post a color version, as well.

I really like the b/w, especially with that background. That's a great pinpoint shot Jer. You do have an eye for spotting the unusual. Bob

It's the BW for me too! It has a really eerie sharp look to it.

I appreciate it Capn. I think I prefer the B&W (what I had in mind in the first place), but I'm not entirely sure.

I appreciate it, Ivan. Yeah, that stain (or whatever it is) is a bit distracting. I didn't notice it when I shot the pic - otherwise I would have wiped it off first .

Kind words, my friend. I appreciate it. I love to shoot stuff like this and as soon as the atmospheric fever breaks, I'll be ranging out looking for more.
