Northern Flicker
Lens: DA*300 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Everett, WA ISO: 1000 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F8

I was sitting at my computer and glanced out the window toward my two bird feeders and there in the tree, just above the feeder, was a pecker! A Northern Flicker to be exact. They startle easily from my experience so I slowly opened up the front door and just sat there with my tripod hoping to get a few good shots. I think the shots overall are pretty good, just a bit to bright. I'm working on it. Thanks for stopping buy!

Tracy, nice shots, really like the 2nd one, shows off the coloring and markings better. It amazes me with all the work these birds do to eat, that they can find enough food to survive on. Bob

Thanks Rupert! I saw one of Otis's cousins right outside my window a few hours ago. I could not get a shot of him before he left but I thought I heard him as me to pass on a hello to Otis.
