People 18th Wedding Aniversary

I am no portrait photographer, just because I hate the idea only of fuzzing around with flashes etc. So, this one is with ambient light only, and I am quite pleased with it. What do you think?

Nice and sharp, like the soft light on the face, the light over the right shoulder is a bit bright and distracting though. Maybe crop to a portrait format to loose the light.

I think it's very good. Great DoF on the subject and composition is great.

Thanks! I will try the crop, but I like the sense of context myself....

I think it's a very good picture but agree that a portrait crop may improve the image. Congrats on 18 years!!

Nice portrait--ambient light works best. I like it with background, although I would cut out a bit of it.

Man, this is a delightful shot. I can't do portraits well at all, but if I could I'd do a shot just like this one. Perfect.

Congrats Rense!
I quite like this no-flash portrait, the skin looks nice and soft whilst the eyes are sharp. also the background is rendered very nicely out of focus and its not at all distracting and adds a very warm comforting homely feel to the image.

Good job.

I think if the light is that distracting I would use the burn tool and darken it a bit, but I would leave the whole photo.
