#3 would have been great with the focus point on the face, but the rest of them are of your usual style of characteristic portraiture.
Thanks, that shot of the girl sitting, playing with her hair was really random. I was riding my bike home after a tiring evening of shooting people when I saw her having a smoke break. The sun was right at the horizon so I had to shoot wide open, since I only use flash when absolutely necessary. I laid down on my stomach with the camera inches from the street. I used center point focus, raised it slightly to focus on her head, then lowered it, hoping I could nail something. Whether it was camera misfocus or my mistake I don't know, maybe both. Maybe I should have moved the focus point setting, but it's hard to execute those kinds of decisions in these scenarios, since I'm fairly comfortable adjusting as necessary with center point. I have a few other shots, but this was the most interesting. When she asked me what she should do, I told her to "act like i'm not here". She was obviously fairly comfy since she was adjusting her ponytail.
