Here is a strange bird

No idea who these folks are, they asked for a pic, so I took it..

And of course,...''An Elvis Sighting''

I would say it is a member of the Cormorant family for sure and probably a Double Crested or Phalacrocorax auritus. They are relatives of Pelicans that dive to feed (on small fish). Their feathers are not waterproof (like a duck) so you may see them perched or standing with their wings outspread to dry off.

Your last picture has a very strange bird that I definitely have no reasonable explanation for it's existence.

I've had people ask me to take their picture before - strange. Why do they ask?!!!

As for the bird, I replied to that question a month or so ago, in another thread.

A nice random series , the Elvis sighting is a fun shot. It's funny people ask for their picture to be taken and then you walk away .... perhaps hoping for their 15 minutes of fame
