Monarch in early evening

The Monday before Hurricane Irene hit I had 15 minutes with this handsome monarch butterfly, located in a nearby field. I managed a couple dozen quality photos, some of which are slated for PC desktop backgrounds, calendars, etc. for local businesses. I love the strong, low-hanging sun's light thru his wings.

Thanks, fellas. I'll admit to being a little worn out on the color orange but there's certainly no over-abundance of monarchs - or any other large butterfly - by me. I guess that's part of what drove the unexpected interest in these shots...

Thanks. Picasaweb seems to oversharpen a tad when downsizing, but the angle of the light made even my cheapie Quantaray look good.
