Trip to Cockington Green
Lens: Various Camera: K20D Photo Location: Cockington Green, Canberra, ACT, Australia

On a whim popped out to Cockington Green with the better half. Haven't been there in years. Even took a ride on the steam train Its a Model Village, based on buildings from the UK and with a more recently (I say recent - I think its been there 10 years ) "International Section" featuring some famous overseas landmarks and scenes..

I will say this - someone there has a warped sense of humor - quite a few little 'gags' around the place such as a crime scene complete with body.... and Jedi

To give a sense of scale; here is a model replica of the only building they had 'complete plans' of - the Main Building itself (Note - I chose a bad angle - this was a hurried shot and thats why the building behind looks crooked compared to the model - its just Parallax error! ):

An example of the detail they go to here; this is a 'typical Council Street in the UK':

A Soccer Match, with requisite Streaker!

The Stig hanging out in a village

Some of the beautiful colour around the place thanks to it nearly being spring. Cherry Blossoms in full bloom:

Spanish Windmills from the International Section:

One of the many 'what the' type moments - a UFO perched on the roof of another model only visible from the Train Ride (including Alien popping to the Ladies...):

A Mini Stonehenge:

My beautiful fiance; posing by a windmill from her Homeland (shes Dutch):

Playing around with 'speed' shots using the model Intercity 125 there:

Hope you enjoyed some of the cute and whacky sites from Cockington Green!
