Spotted wired onto the smokestack of a small incinerator at the place where I went to unload today.

You are definitely getting some use out of that new lens! Those 'Limited' primes are great.

I really like this, Mike. The rust has a rich texture and plenty of depth.

This is really very good Mike, Great depth of colour and nicely isolated subject. Looks like it's been there untouched for years. The title is inventive as well, makes you really study the picture.

nice.

Rust is a subject that usually responds well to heavy saturation.

Often rusts' saturated red is nicely contrasted, in a bleeding eyeball way, with consequent oversaturated indigos of steel, greasy-blue gears, flaking paint, other likely textures. In your picture, some of the wire and maybe some background may shift into blue or indigo with over saturation. This sort of oversaturation, super hot-cold contrast, is 'not for the faint of heart'.

here is small sample of my rusty work by explanation:

Thanks, everyone.

I didn't touch the saturation on this one. This one was: contrast adjustment layer; curves; unsharp mask; bump map.

That texture surely is amazing. Love that rusty feel. Congrads on this fantastic prime!
