Blue-faced Honeyeater (also called Banana bird) in the yard.

The bird is always very colourful with his blue face.

Minimum PP with PDCU 4.33. C&C always welcome...

Nice pastel colours. If I may suggest removing the spiky leaves coming in from the lower right corner. I have not seen this particular bird in Melbourne although they are supposed to inhabit the area. I will keep a look out.

Bruce, we had a few around here (not far north of Melbourne) for a few weeks in autumn this year. No seen before or since... birdsinbackyards.net says they are locally nomadic in the south with regular seasonal movements in some areas.

Thanks guy for the comments. Bruce: your comment on the spiky leaves is 'spot on'.

While the birds are always active in the garden, the banana bird is not that common in a backyard in Brisbane. But we see every so often a few as well as a few unusual birds, possibly because because I live nearby a forest park..
