Sigma 400mm APO -Not birds!
Lens: Sigma 400mm/5.6 APO MF Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Bowraville, NSW Australia ISO: 1600 Shutter Speed: 1/3000s Aperture: F8

The World Rally Championships have been in town....

By the time I got to this stage all the WRC cars had been through and the local cars were on stage. I couldn't get close enough for my wider lenses so I got waaay back and got out the 400. Really goes to show why all the pros with their canons are shooting 70-200mm lenses. Would have made my life a lot easier! Still very very impressed with the Sigmas efforts and something different for people to look at when considering this lens. BTW all shots were handheld, I was leaning against a tree though.

You will be happy to know that both Sigma and Tamron make nice 70-200/2.8 lenses for your next rally. As a new owner of the Tammy version, I feel its among the sharpest and best focusing of all of my 15 lenses. There is a nice review here in the forum pitting the Sigma and Tamron along with the older Pentax FA equivalent. You don't have to buy a 5d to use a fast 70-200.

Yeah I just had a look at a local retailers website and they have the Sigma 70-200/2.8 for $749aud which is very very tempting...
