Astro shot of moon
Posted By: wildman, 09-14-2011, 01:53 AM

Astro-Tech AT80EDTA 80mm f/7 ED triplet apochromatic refractor
Weight: 7.8 lbs.
Highest Useful Magnification: 187x
Visual Limiting Magnitude: 12.0
Focal Length: 560mm
Focal Ratio: f/7
Resolution: 1.29 arc seconds
Aperture: 3.1"
Refraction limited

Taken at prime focus (about 15x and cropped)
This is the first time I have ever used it for astro use. Otherwise I have only used it on birds.
Phase of the Moon on 13 September: waning gibbous with 98% of the Moon's visible disk illuminated.
Full Moon on 12 September 2011 at 4:27 a.m. Central Daylight Time.

If the sky is clear tonight I will try and post a shot from the f/8 1000mm scope (about 30x)

"Heck" of an image Wildman. Did a 3 shot bracket other night (-1 waxing)
on slide film, dont think I'll be able to pull that much detail out for sure.
Could swear I see Armstrong/Aldrin footprints in your shot.
