I have a photo somewhere of one like this. He was sitting on a ladder. I have no idea what it is....

They are Assassin bugs...stink bugs....nasty critters! If they get on you they make a nasty blister with their very strong acidic spray. Currently they are a plague across the nation, and they ruin many crops including fruits and vegetables. Otis despises them!

Not too many here this year, the drought has killed most everything, including bugs. Fewer bugs this year than I have ever observed, in a place where we are normally covered with them.

Great shot of an ugly critter - I remember one bass player (in one of the several bands I played in over the years) who looked something like this
