New feeding spot in bush (2 img)
Posted By: ToXiQ, 12-05-2007, 01:09 PM

Hello All,

I have almost finished my new winter feeding spot in the bush. After 1 day I could not wait to go back and look if the birds started eating. And yes they did but what a dissapointment. I saw only one bird ;-)

and yes it was cloudy and rainy and very cold.

regards Walter

Too funny!

"You're using the doghouse! Does that mean you're lying down when taking these shots? Could I ask you and any other bird/nature-shooters to post shots of your setup?"

There are dohhouses and then there are Doghouses!

Here's what I've been using for the past couple of years. Picked it up on sale for $20. Best $20.00 I've ever spent. Except, maybe, for that one night, long, long ago...

Is this an embarrassing moment or what - lol.
I thought it might have been something like that but I quickly brushed it away - guess I shouldn't have.

Damn that's funny.

Hold on...

I might be the embarrassed one if Walter posts back a photo of his dog house and it IS a doghouse and there's a sign saying FIDO over the door.

I was thinking back yard but that is some serious setup, I wonder what I would have thought if I was just walking around in the forrest and ran into those two snipers

Hello Andreas,

I do not hope to see any visitors here. It is forbidden to leave the walking way in the bush. We can recieve a ticket here for that .

Also whan people could easaly find it I do not think the feeding spots will stay there.

I am hoping at good weather next weekend so I can go back again and refill the food!

regards Walter

Thanks for taking time to post the setup shots Walter. Seeing these actually helps people like me quite a bit.

I can actually see the distance and how people do it so, thanks again.

Hi Walter,

Looks like a nice setup to catch beautiful bird images with! So is the contrast/colors pretty much what the lens gives you? I've heard very good things about the Sigma Lens, so I was curious as to your thoughts on it.

I think that the Sigma 500/4.5 price point is very good, and it's around $3000 less than a FA* 600/4!!!

Beautiful images as always!

Cheers,
Marc

I have a SMC A * 600 from pentax too and I do not see any difference in image quality. When there is a difference it is ver marginal.

You have both???? Dis you mean A* or as the question was asked, FA*? Seriously thats worth more than my car.

After looking at Jim Kings collection, someone once made a comment here about LBA the garden variety kind (that would be me and 95% of the others) anf then there's the King sized LBA. Yours, on just having two similar lenses at this value, must fit in the king sized !!!
