Way too close. I enjoy shooting lightning, but these were a little close for comfort and quite noisy.

E.T. phone home - cool shots, Bob. You're lighting shots are electric!! Did you apply some color in PP? I've seen a lot of thunderstorms growing up in Southern Illinois, and I know that stormy skies can take on some remarkable hues.

Jer, I had the camera WB on auto and I think with fluorescent lamps and tungsten lamps nearby, along with the brightness of the lightning, it or I got confused and gave the sky that color, so the answer is I am not really sure.

I think they were following us for awhile, we are now in AZ with clear and very hot sky, 107f today in Bullhead City. Bob

If you hear one of those streamers sizzling and hissing over your head... you could be too close. Nice shots, keep your feet dry.

Charlie, that is what my wife always says, except there are so many other verbs and descriptive words added. Love the storms and glad you enjoyed the shots. Bob
