Very nice! Frankly, most of the time I just skip over the insect macros — just not interested. But these are really, really good.

Out of curiosity why those settings?

Also the flash is a bit harsh, whats being used as a diffuser?

The first is my favorite, the last might have been the winner if it was focused on the head

The settings noted on the thread are probably wrong, when using the 50mm tubed it's usually f11-16 with ISO anywhere from 80-320 and flashed for fill and highlighting. I agree, the flash is a little bit much on these - I was handholding the flash and had it rather close to these guys; the diffuser used was a small 8x8 flash softbox. As for the last ant, that was just a quick shot but posted it because I liked the plum (multicolor) of that guy...
