A Few Hoverfly's From Today
Lens: Ricoh Rikenon P 50mm (Tubed), Viv'ee 105 Macro (Tubed) Camera: Kx Photo Location: Maryland ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F11

Really loved the way the first one here turned out - focus was a wee bit far out on the eyes, but other than that one of the best subjects/comps I have come across in a while, just love the way the water droplets are on the hoverfly...

Incredible shots Crypt! The first shot is perfect with the water on the wings. It looks so much like crystallized water. Awesome job brother. You have come so far in the past several months. Maybe you just have the perfect lens in your hands!

Great shots. I always have problem keeping focus on their eyes.

Yes, these were all handheld. The first one was shot with the Viv'ee 105 macro with a 36mm automatic extension tube - the extension tube was used not for close focusing, but to modify the DOF of that composition; the same size extension tube was also used on the others...

It can get pretty tough - it gets really tough when using tubes...
