Two favorite subjects - wife and pooch
Posted By: doggydude, 12-19-2006, 07:34 AM

Well, certainly nothing to brag about, but I'm hoping to re-ignite my sharing bug by posting a pic from the K10.

Here we have my English Springer Reno cuddling up to my wife the other evening. He's a belligerent toolshed, except to us, naturally...LOL With us he's just a beautiful boy.

Now, some deets:

1 - I resized the pic (printing a copy for my office at 8x10)
2 - Saved jpeg quality at 80%
3 - ISO 1600, hand held, SR ON, no flash, 3 incandescent bulbs in the room

Overall, it has a *feel* to it I quite like, hence me printing a copy for my office wall.

OK, so I'm adding a third subject into the mix - this is Diva, one of our Cavaliers...

Color brightened slightly to compensate for the fill-flash I used (on camera). ISO 800, hand held, SR on, hallway light...and that's it.

Both shots are quite good.

The anticipation of the foot forward on Diva adds nice dynamics to the photo.

I really like the picture of your Springer and your wife. How about entering this in "photos of my better half."

Thanks Clarence.

Diva knows she's not supposed to be on the table, so this is her way of "testing" me...LOL She's always beautiful, and sometimes crafty.

...and is there really a photo contest about better halves?

On this portion of the forum "Post your photo."
Not really a contest, just a sharing.

Yeah, within 3 minutes of the pic, Reno (pooch) was asleep, snoring and twitching. About 3 minutes after that I noticed my wife was asleep as well...LOL

Peaceful indeed...

Lovely warm and cosy feel in the first one, I can see how you'd want it in your office. Reno reminds me very much of our old springer/beagle cross. She had the same markings, but was otherwise very much a beagle. Independent, sneaky, smart, but very sweet. It looks like Diva has some of that attitude, testing your tolerance with the paw on the table! Heidi (our dog) was supposed to sit and wait for her supper, but she'd shuffle forward on her bottom - "I'm still sitting, right??" Lots of character caught in those images!

I have to agree with Carol; the first has a very relaxed, peaceful feeling.

Diva's a beautiful dog. You got excellent results on that one too.

Thanks for posting these!

Slightly different composition, same subjects. He's the focus.

Same ISO 1600 deets as the original pics, hence the noise.

...and for those wondering, that's his WTF look...
