I like #1 better Kim. I think I might like #2 better if it had say a +.5 EV increase.

Now, have you considered buying a f/1.4 or f/1.8 or something prime lens? Where you live, wide angle is great. I'd never get sick of shooting the Milkyway (wish I could see it around here). The 50mm f/1.4 did great, but I so wish I had a 21mm or 24mm f/1.4 the few days I was in a place where the Milkyway was blazing. ...but, I digress!

I have considered investing in an actual Macro lens. I really wanted it before the end of last month!! LOL BUT.. well I still have to trade in my old camera body and was thinking about putting it toward something like that. Thanks for the reference on maybe what kind to get..

I love the milky way as well... Can't wait to try it..

You mentioned you want a 21 or 24 macro... I still have my old 28 - 80 film lens.. I know the 80 goes up to 120 or so.. .. does the 28 go up as well?? or will go down?? if that makes sense??

Thanks m8o for the thoughts!!

Happy Holidays.. Kim

Not looking for macro wide angle, but rather a 'fast' (small f/#) wide angle. I have a f/4 wide angle, but that only lets in 1/8th [!!!] of the light of an f/1.4. I will probably get one of the Sigmas, the 24mm most likely rather then the 21mm.
