Common Lingfisher is back!
Lens: Sigma 500mm f/4.5 APO EX Camera: Pentax K5

Was happy being the 1st few birders to spot this migratory cute bird - Common Kingfisher.
Unlike the id, this bird is for sure not common in Singapore at all, it will only fly here once a year (hope to continue coming every year )

Nicely done, a pity we don't get them at all in New Zealand. They seem like very popular subjects for birding, I'm always amazed at how small they really are.

I think I shot this guy a few weeks ago here in Europe
Very nice shot and very nice sharpness for wide open aperture.

Where are you based - I saw quite a few Kingfishers growing up in Northland. They don't hang around for long though!

Yes, kingfishers are the fav subject for birders and they are very small and cute.
