Driving through Wilno
Lens: Pentax FA 50 1.7 Camera: k-x Photo Location: Wilno, Ontario

We were blessed by a gorgeous sunset on our two hour drive home yesterday.

I could not resist and shot this out the car window at about 100km./hour

Norman said just because we had left the dogs for 8 hours didn't mean we should not stop for a few seconds to take a picture. Here we are in Wilno.

Wilno is a tiny artsy Polish settlement in the middle of nowhere with a small population famous for its raucous Tavern and live Blues as well as this beautiful Church.

And the view out the church windows

(When we got home the dogs' legs were crossed and they bellowed disapproval regarding our long absence, but they were otherwise fine.)

Great shots Tess.
And that church is really something for being in the middle of nowhere!

Tess, that 1st one is wild, I like the way it turned out. Did you purposely leave the powerlines on the left of #2, sort of pulls the eye away from the setting sun. All great captures, love the church photo especially. Take care of Norm and TFS. Bob

Thank you so much Charlie, Tim, Dave and Bob.

Charlie, we have had some really cold nights so the leaves are changing and falling quickly. I feel rushed to get photos, although the next 5 or 6 days will be summer-like up here.

Tim... that church really is in the middle of nowhere! 7000 acre wilderness park to its north, and miles upon miles of crown land in every direction. The nearest major city is a minimum of two hours away. One day I will attend that church just to meet the people.... or maybe I will attend blues night at the pub first!!

Hey Dave I do love that 100 km. an hour photo ... probably more than I should. btw, those are trees blurring by... I get such a kick out of that type of image.

Bob, I left that powerline in just for you! I mean, as a former lineman I thought you might appreciate the beauty of this perspective! and... I do kinda like it there even if it takes the eye away from the sunset....hey, what does TFS stand for????

thank you all for looking and for your kind comments

Thanks Tess, the powerlines equate $$ to me and certainly is a plus for any photo. I asked my wife if she would ride on top of our motorhome on our next trip and see if we could duplicate your photo, but she just looked at me and walked away, guess that meant NO. Anyway TFS(thanks for sharing) Bob

That is a wonderful series Tess, love the first and last one. Never even heard of Wilmo before so I had do google it, looks like a very interesting place. If we do make another trip to the east we will have to visit there. Thanks for posting these.

Great sunset series, all it needs now is an appropriate park bench. The great thing about sunsets is that you don't have to get up early to observe them. Thanks for the photos. Cliff
