Finally, a Bird to Photograph
Photo Location: Peyton, CO
Posted By: Bob Harris, 10-08-2011, 10:19 PM

After spending the summer months in the Nevada and Arizona deserts where the only birds I saw were ravens and dove, I took this photo of this small bird sitting on our satellite dish. Taken through our motorhome windshield, not sure what species it is.

My wife saw the male who is a bright blue. Thanks for the species name, I hope to see other species while we are in Colorado. Here are a couple more photos of campground friends. Bob

Nice bird but I especially like the pronghorn antelope. Would love to get some shots of those. I need to get out in the wild more.

Larry, I would love to get a better photo of the antelope, they feed right out in this open field next to our campground. Every time I start to walk out there, they watch me and will only let me get so close and then they menander the other way. Guess I will have to get a longer lens. Bob

Remco, he is one of two young rabbits that are at our campsite and I took the shot from about 5 foot. I worry about them because they really don't have much fear and we have quite a few coyotes and hawks in the area. It makes me wonder if the people that occupied our site prior to us fed them.
