Abandoned mine and mining camp near Rosamond. Had gone to shoot something else in the same area but found this instead. {My desert colors brn, brn, & gray} This had more character than the intended target...Go figure. Cliff

Cliff, it has been years since I have visited there, I am surprised it is in about the same shape, which actually is pretty good compared to some old mining towns I have seen. I know what you mean about the desert colors, when I got up here to Colorado my camera just froze up when I focused on the color green. Thanks for the great shots of this once proud mining town. Bob

Dave, I have more abandoned sites in the camera and will release them in a timely manner. If I dump too many together, they will become like wallpaper that no one sees. Now I just have to go out and find something that isn't brown and shoot it. thanks for looking.....Cliff

Oh my goodness I love these shots. Derelict artifact among wilderness are among my favourite things to shoot. You did a marvelous job on these!! Seriously cool. I love the detail in the second, and the hill and composition in the first. thanks so much for sharing! Both are amazing.

Thanks Tess, I just shoot what feels good or right in this "country boy's" eye. The old or abandoned need to be preserved, at least on film, as it is part of our past which contributes to who we are today. I leave a site like that with more questions than answers. What happened here??????? What happened to the people, etc? Cliff

Did a little research {Google} and found this about the abandoned mine near Rosamond, the link leads to the mine history. Gold was mined here...Cliff
