Iced Morning, what do you think?
Posted By: codiac2600, 12-12-2007, 04:51 PM

Well, I took a few snaps in the morning of our freshly iced day and have these to share. Let me know what you think and which one I should get printed if there is even a winner in the bunch.

All taken with the DA* 16-50mm 2.8 on my K10D.

Let me know what you think!

Like all of 'em, really like #2 and #5. I live in central Ohio so we missed the latest ice storms. Although I'm alright with skipping the inevitable power outage I love taking pictures of the results.

Very nice. I really like the B&W conversions. Reminds me of my old film days.

I like #1, the sidewalk does something for my tastes. How did you get the sun to do that crazy starburst, or was that a natural affect?

I'm with Buddha. If you're looking to take one to print, I'd say it's numero uno. I too love the sunrise blast effect, but it's the overall impression that the photo makes that decides this for me.

Number one does it for me too! Beautiful shot! We narrowly escaped the ice in NW Arkansas, but snow's in the forecast so maybe some photo ops this weekend.

Not just one

Do I have to pick only one? I would print #1 first, but would have to print #4 also. I have an issue with choices. ;-) Exif viewer isn't showing the focal length on the last shot. Do you know what fl that is? As I'm typing my reply here I see just a smidgen of the last image and it is calling me back up to look again. I really like that last image a lot too.
Also makes me feel kind of silly to be complaining that it was cold today in San Diego. Yeah, feel free to slap me.

All very impressive Chris. Particularly like No.1. The B&W does them great justice.
Very well done!

I took another look at these and I agree that #1 is the best. The sidewalk leads us right into the sunburst. Ice can be a lovely thing.
