Reptile Expo with the 100mm WR
Lens: DFA 100mm F2.8 WR Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Sacramento
Posted By: einstrigger, 10-29-2011, 06:22 PM

Some photos from the Sacramento Reptile Expo using the 100mm WR and a K-5. The camera was set on TAv mode with auto ISO from 80-6400 while I tried to manually focus each shot. Key word is "tried" I've been practicing more these days with manual focus, still missing a lot of shots, but practice makes perfect right? Anyhow, it was fun with essentially no camera restrictions. Lots of people, kids, and their cameras all over the place. I saw a lot of people walking around with DSLRs, but funny enough, most were shooting with their phones instead. Go figure.

Great shots, really enjoyed the close up view, I would say you are getting the K-5 tuned in very well.

Practice makes perfect, as long as you're practicing the right thing! Doing well with the manual focusing IMO.
Beautiful shots of the reptiles! Showed my youngest son your shots...he's an animal lover and especially loves the reptiles!
Nice job! Tom
