"Take It Easy"
Lens: 43mm Camera: K5 Photo Location: Winslow Arizona
Posted By: Bob Harris, 11-06-2011, 07:57 PM

You have heard the song the Eagles made, now you can say you saw the corner and the flatbed Ford in Winslow Arizona

Well, I'm a standing on a corner
in Winslow, Arizona
and such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me
We may lose and we may win though
we will never be here again
so open up, I'm climbin' in,
so take it easy

This is way cool. It dates me, but I remember when this song came out (I was on active duty in the AF) and I always wondered about Winslow, AZ. Now I know. You full-timers get to do some neat things. I'm shoveling snow and splitting firewood. Thanks!!! Jim

Great shot Bob, and one of my favorite songs. Except when I try and sing along in the car, it's too high for me and I always strain my voice trying. Thanks for taking that.

Lori, I had read about it before but never got off of the I-40 freeway to go into Winslow. This year we are camped close enough, so drove the Jeep into town to see the corner. thanks for looking and commenting. Bob

Jim, at the corner they play all Eagles music, sort of cool. When it snows I had south, when it gets cold instead of firewood, I buy a space heater. I do wish I could get my diesel bill lower though, Bob

Kyle, I knew you got off of the freeway quite a bit on your last trip through, but didn't remember a photo of the "corner".

Very entertaining photos Bob. How much is real and how much is staged. I refer to the couple hugging in the window... and the bald eagle.... are those artifacts or did you get incredibly lucky? I guess it is all there for appeal. I love this series. Thanks so much for posting!

Since you asked...:-) I think I chose this angle to hide the stuff behind the truck.

They had the flatbed parked way back of where your photo was shot, I thought it was pretty cool they had the truck there as part of the props. Thanks for posting Kyle.
