Our Newest Backyard
Photo Location: Arizona

After being delayed a couple of days due to snowstorms in New Mexico, we pulled into Homolovi State Park in the high desert of Arizona near Winslow AZ. This is the land of the Anasazi Indians prior to the 14th century, so we spent a couple of days exploring the area before leaving tomorrow, Tuesday, headed to Camp Verde, AZ.

This was taken with the K-5 and 43mm ltd, shot handheld. This is my favorite lens, always gives great color and sharpness and not bad for landscapes. Thanks for viewing. Bob

That sky and those clouds are amazing. It just goes on and on. Very impressive. What an amazing country this is! Glad you are documenting so much of it for us, Bob!

Thanks Tom and you are right, it is desolate in a way, but the deserts have their own beauty and I have always loved the wide open views and solitude. Appreciate you taking a look, Bob

Another seriously great shot. Love the drama of the place. My Aunt and Uncle just arrived there as well. We are working on a plan to make it to Arizona for three weeks next winter. Keep these images coming Bob... they are amazing.

Dave, at $20 per night camping fee with hookups, not a bad price for such a view, thanks for looking. Bob

Tess, Arizona is a wonderful state to visit, a little bit of everything from the Sonora desert to the Kaibab forest. We just passed through Flagstaff where Humphreys Peak sits at 12,600. Most people think of Arizona as a place that is made up of only the desert and snakes, but with a little planning you will discover it's true beauty.
