Arizona High Country
Lens: 43mm Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Flagstaff, Arizona
Posted By: Bob Harris, 11-10-2011, 10:00 PM

We left the Winslow area and headed up the I-40 towards Flagstaff, stopping briefly to take a photo of Humphreys Peak, elevation 12,600. The city of Flagstaff had at least a foot of fresh snow and we then stopped at a turnout on the I-17 to take a photo of the valley floor looking south. So as you can see Arizona has more to offer than just the Senora Desert and high temperatures, it truely has something for everyone.

Very nice.
Scenery that warms the heart, despite cooling the body.

Nice snow. I did not realize the USS Enterprise was so large.

I absolutely adore the first shot especially, Bob! Those mountains are so clear and make a very imposing backdrop. Fantastic!

thanks Ash, you're right about cooling the body, the outside temp was about 35f and a 25mph wind, a bit chilly for a desert rat. Bob

Thank you Jer, interesting state where you can be on the Colorado River which is about 50 foot above sea level and in the same day in the mountains at 12,000 above. Yes, these cold temps are very refreshing.

Kyle, I would of taken a full view shot of the motorhome, but where we pulled off, I couldn't walk any further back because of a 50 foot drop-off. Thanks for taking a look. Bob

Hi Bob

The names of your posted files say "filtered", may I ask what you filter them with?

You take some nice shots (very nice in fact) but I always open up your images with my own software and make some changes for my on enjoyment, that's how I noticed.

You seem to be what we call here in Australia "Grey Nomads" ( Grey Nomads Australia ) these are retired people who sell their houses, by a caravan or such and travel around Australia, sometimes for many years. The aim is to spend the kids inheritance.

Greetings

I use Neat Image on different photos. That is very interesting about the Grey Nomads, basically the same as us "Hippie Gypsies" that our kids call us and yes on spending the inheritance.
There must be some way to leave photo info intact when filtering, thanks for the info Bob
