First K7 Stuff from South Africa Trip
Lens: Pentax DA 55-300 Camera: Pentax K7

Baptism by fire in South Africa all taken hand held. What do they say "never take pictures of children or animals"? These are my first shots with the K7.

Oh WOW! What wonderful shots. You say these are the first with your K5 but it looks like you already knew a lot about getting value from your camera. I'm curious though about the location - was it out in the wild or a place like a safari park? Not that it really matters - the photos are great.

Many thanks for your nice comments folks. The pictures are actually out of sequence but are located as below:-

The flowers – Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town.

The Cheetah – Shiduli Private Game Lodge at Edeni Game Reserve which covers some 9.500 Acres of wilderness. There were 4 Landrovers and we all set off in different points of the compass with an early drive at 05:00 and a late one at 16:00 on into darkness.

The Vervet Monkey – was on a tree outside of our room at the game lodge. She was sucking nectar from the flowers and not damaging them.

The Elephants – Chobe National Park Botswana where we saw at least 500 elephants in one day. This place was a photographers paradise as there was less dense foliage with constant sunshine and 38 degrees. Chobe covers 10,566 square kilometres and has an elephant population of 120,000. We took a day trip there from Victoria Falls and it really blew us away.
