Gornergrat, Switzerland
Posted By: tcom, 12-16-2007, 03:47 AM

With the beautiful winter day we had yesterday, I made an extended walk on the Gornergrat (3100m mountain in the Zermatt area, Switzerland). The weather was superb, but the temperatures were very cold (-16°), I was not sure if the K10D will make it, but it did not show any problems. (all photos with K10D and DA*16-50/2.8)

1/500s f/8.0 at 16.0mm

1/800s f/9.0 at 21.0mm

1/800s f/8.0 at 19.0mm

1/640s f/8.0 at 28.0mm

And one photo of myself...

How about the last picture. Your shadow is intruiging. I couldn't tell whether you were using a tripod or taking a leak.

I can tell, actually, because I know that taking a leak at -16C is much too cold...!

No tripod, the thin shadow next to me is the shadow of the telescopic poles I was using for the snowshoes walk...

Great shots. I like them all, but if I had to choose my favourite, it would be no. 3 followed closely by no.2.
Anyway, they are great. Thanx for sharing them with us...

Beautiful BLUES. Nice shots and congrats on both POTDs.

These are the type of shots you see on calendars and wallpapers - that's how good they are.

Well done.

I like 'em, especially the composition of #2 and #3, as well as the contrast and saturation of #5.
