No "Fire Sky" - Ended Up With This
Posted By: joe.penn, 11-20-2011, 06:55 PM

Driving home from DC yesterday evening noticed we had a spectacular "Fire Sky" with incredible Deep Reds, Purples, and Hot Pinks - I could not get back out to shoot it. Today it started to come together early with the patchy clouds, went out but it never formed - what a bummer .

I was still setup, so popped a few multi-exposure shots, these are what I came up with...

(I took a snap with my phone yesterday of the "Fire Sky" in the car while driving - see the last photo which is a super crappy cell shot - this shall show you what I was after )

9 3-Second Exposures
K5, Samyang (Vivitar) 13mm 2.8, f/11, 80ISO

6 10-Second Exposures
DA 35mm 2.4

And the super crappy cell phone pic of the event a day earlier...

Joe, you have a K-5 and two Kx cameras and all you have with you is a cellphone cam to get the the photo you have been waiting for. The first two are good though, take care and time to prioritize I would think.
