A December Sunrise in Central Texas
Posted By: ChipB, 12-18-2007, 09:13 AM

Yesterday morning I was up and about early - went outside to get the paper and was stunned by the sunrise. Ran back in the house, grabbed my DS - just happened to have my Vivitar Series 1 28-105 on it - and got this pic. No post-processing - just re-sized it for posting.

Oh, you saw this, too! It sure was amazing! I saw it on the way to school, as I live ~10mi. west of Liberty Hill and go to school in Leander. Thanks for the picture.

Nice to meet another Centex member, too.

If I was to walk outside and see that I would run back inside got on my knees and prayed cuz it looks like the end of the world!

Nice snap.

Holy crap. That is some beautiful sunrise. You did the right thing, I'd be taking a hundred shots of that before it disappeared. Nice photo.

Great capture Chip. Amazing colours. I may have been tempted to lower the camera view just a little further in relation to the horizon, but this is a great picture.

It's really quite a capture. And I love the placement of the horizon and the two small white clouds. Exceptional shot.

Thanks Everyone for the nice words - I was so taken by the colors I didn't even think about composition (shouldn't admit that, should I?? ) or focus. I just pointed the camera and started shooting! Amazing how fast the colors change.

I'm hardly ever up early enough to see the sunrise so this was a really special treat.

What a stunner, Chip! Just a drab, warm and gray morning on the coast.

That is one red sky in the morning ..... I wonder if Sailor took warning It is not often mother nature provides such a scenic canvas and even rarer to someone with a camera on hand. Nicely done!

Wow that is a beautiful sunrise Chip. That is something worth getting up early for. In my area by the coast there is rarely a clear sunrise, we are most times in fog or complete overcast. That is my excuse for not being an early bird anyway.
