Quick test shots with the Fisheye.
Posted By: Chako, 12-18-2007, 03:38 PM

I just picked up the 10-17mm fisheye from the local photography store. Here are a few test shots with it. I think I will have a lot of fun with this one.

Looks like a fun lens. Nice B&W conversions as well. Seems nice and sharp on the focused items.

I have a few questions though. How do you work those patio doors? They look like they might be a little tough to install and open/close with such curved frames.

The wooden fruit must be tough on the teeth.

This is certainly a creative lens to use. I am definitely going to have a lot of fun with this little fellow.

Yes sir, those doors do look a little crooked to my eyes also. I paid too much to have them installed I guess...oh wait...I installed them myself...dang. I can only say it was the beer. Yes, that is my story and I am sticking to it!

These fruit\ are made for the local beaver. I am told he likes his fruit that way.

I have had mine for a while. Although it is not an 'everyday' lens it is fun to use - and the results can be rewarding.
It is fun getting 'up close and personal' with your subject.
For the shot here I was less than 12" from the front of the car. People give you that "...what the hell is he taking a picture of?..." kind of stare.

Enjoy!

Nice shots and nice conversions! I don't have the 10-17, but the somewhat narrower Zenitar 16mm. I think one of the effects I most enjoy is the distortion it gives distances. The entrance way in this shot is actually only about 50 ft (17M) long, it looks waaaayyyyy longer than that K10D, Zenitar 16mm aperture unknown but probably f4.0 or wider, hurried shot, forgot to reset the shake reduction, but still did pretty good considering it was shot at 1/5 of a second!
