Forest Light [5 IMG]
Lens: DA 35/2.8 and 70/2.4 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: National Wildlife Refuge ISO: 80

I've always been fascinated by how the sun can penetrate forest foliage to randomly but selectively illuminate a feature, thereby extricating it from the surrounding gloom. Yesterday, I spent some time at a nearby, newly-opened National Wildlife Refuge and - among other things - tried to spot and photograph examples of that selective illumination. Here's what I came home with.

Very cool, Jer! I love that effect of light, too. The last shot is my favorite, but these are all excellent examples.

Awesome technique! I call that sun-spotting. I love your results...they flow and sing at the same time!

Great series. Like the lighting on the 1st and last best. Nice textures in the first shot and the Spanish moss just stands out. I guess even God has a photographer's eye as he selectively lights the world
