Has anyone seen Gilligan in the area? This must be his handiwork. Have driven by this for a number of years, always in a hurry. Finally stopped and shot, found another old barn off in the weeds while I was stopped. Enjoy..Cliff

I don't know if it's still around, but over on Edwards AFB used to be The Lost Aircraft Carrier Of The Desert. (Just being The Lost Ship Of The Desert wasn't enough, no.) A full-size mockup of the flight deck and superstructure of a Japanese carrier was built there during WW2, for target practice. It's probably long gone, but hay, why not investigate?

Rio, Carebear Careboy & Sailor, Thanks for looking. No Jer, I think Ginger went to the Gulf Coast area of Tejas looking for a new first mate. Cliff

Neat shot!

Just to help me get a scope, how far is this boat from a body of water?

You know, Cliff, I always thought that beneath that flighty (among other things) exterior was a pretty smart lady .

I have looked at these images many times and finally have time to say how much I like them. I always enjoy your way of seeing, the post processing involved that provides so much character. It is different and it is unique. Very very nice. I like both shots immensely!!

I actually think I have seen that boat before in my travels, though I can't recall where it was.

The SS Minnow lies on the bottom about 15 miles west of Mojave on the north side of highway 58. She is pointed to the southwest. The Google Earth coordinates are 35 degrees 06 min 21.4 sec North by 118 degrees 18 min 59.09 sec West Cliff
