Christmas in the windows
Lens: Sigma 10-20 Camera: Nikon D7000 Photo Location: Downtown Toronto
Posted By: Nick, 12-07-2011, 07:11 PM

These Christmas scenes are being displayed in the windows of The Bay department store downtown Toronto. The last one was the reflecting pool serving as a skating ring of Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto City Hall.
My apologies. The pics were taken with the D7000 because my K-x is being loaned. All were at ISO 1600 to 3200

Fun and festive series, really enjoyed viewing them. I bet the children love these, how fun. Great job on the skating rink, really beautiful. TFS

Nice shots that bring back memories when our family would drive to downtown St. Louis after Thanksgiving to see the displays at Famous-Barr and Sticks, Bayer and Fuller - alas no more. These buildings are either hulks or shadows of what they used to be.

Excellent shot of the rink. I'll be down there later today to pick something up at city hall.

Christmas

Bob, Sailor and Eddie: Thank you so much for your kind words. I feel encouraged.
BTW, what do you think about this one? It's not symmetrical, but I like the curves.

These are great! I'm curious if these were shot through the store window? Also, what is the aprox. scale of the figures?

Reflecting pool &figures in the window

Eddie: It's a combination of timing and luck. Better go down there early evening. When the ice surface ploughed by the blades and the rink crowded, there is no reflection.

JD: the scenes are displayed in the windows, figures are about 20 to 30cm, I think. Shots were made with a 10-20mm Sigma at about 1 meter distance.
