My DS shots FA77 ltd
Posted By: roentarre, 12-21-2006, 07:45 PM

Not long ago, I was testing the water with Joele's DS to check out pentax gear quality.

Guess what I got from that trip.

I love it. Who says fa 77 f1.8 is a protrait lens?

1/4s f/22.0 at 77.0mm iso200 full exif

1/6s f/19.0 at 77.0mm iso200 full exif

1/4s f/19.0 at 77.0mm iso200 full exif

What a great camera it is!

Cheers

Beautiful shots, just slow enough to show the motion of the falls without making them a white blur. Very nice.

Very nice! As has already been said; those relatively long exposure times gave the water JUST the right "texture".

Yeah, I like that focal length for those shots.

Thanks, Dan

I think I could count on one hand the number of times I've used my 77 as a portrait lens . I do like it as a tighter landscape lens though - though I haven't had a chance to point it at anything quite as beautiful as what you've got there, James.

Excellent shots. You caught some great scenery in some beautiful light!

Hi Andrew. I was lucky that day since it was such a overcast day with showers going off every half an hour. That might explain why the colour was richer and more evenly distributed.

77 baptised me as a pentax follower and it would continue to do so. It is my walk around lens when I go to shopping centre. Nice thing to get things subject isolated...

Cheers

thanks for showing us,
It is a little lens but does a great job. I wonder why other competition brands have to make their specialty lenses so bulky to do the same job? After all, I often use manual focus on 77 anyway. Quicker that way and more accurate.

Thank you Jonas. I love waterfall and there is too few of them in Victoria Oz.
