Falcon Crag and a bit of mist
Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Lake District
Posted By: mark lj, 12-19-2011, 04:03 AM

I did a bit of a tour of Skye and Inver Polly in the far north of Scotland for a week at the start of November. Up at 4am or thereabouts every day and the weather was awful every day :-(

First day back home had a great forecast so was up very early again (to various noises of annoyance from the missus) and wandered up Falcon Crag well before dawn. Most shots taken with the DA*60-250. I've posted a couple already in Lens Club but I've just spent an hour or two going through them with LR3. For a nice change the conditions were lovely. I'd like to have been down at mist level for some but it would have been a bit of a trek.

wonderful photography, we never have weather like that in the s/w of the US, the fog/mist makes for interesting photo opportunities.

Another great set! You always seem to capture that "other-worldly" mood in your photos.

Cheers folks - appreciate the comments. It was lovely sitting there from before dawn watching the scene unfold.

I had to be careful rushing to get in the shot as the cliff is just in front of the boulder and it was a little slippy.

Maybe that's the price to be paid as a photographer.
Anyway, great view as it is. Anybody has seen this in person should feel so lucky.

Simply outstanding - a set of "top rung" photos if I ever saw one.
