Yesterday morning I awoke to thick blanket of fog and with our frigid temperatures I knew it would lead to one thing, Hoar Frost! This only happens a few times a year but when it does it is spectacular to see. I waited for the fog to lift and headed out into the frigid cold and I mean frigid. By the time I got dressed and out it was -31C. I was out for about an hour until my face was numb and my ballhead was not very happy with me. I now know that ballheads don't rotate very well in the frigid cold. Lesson learned.
