Lets see your Moon and Mars shots
Posted By: Igilligan, 12-24-2007, 12:50 AM

Mars and the moon are sittin' very close to each other in the sky...
Ok, I gave it a shot or fifty... but mars looks more like a glob of stuck pixels than the sharp point of light it really was.

Here is my attempts... Lets see yours, I know some folks were shooting

So nobody else?

I thought someone would have shot it. But you were all out shopping or drinkin' the egg nog. Or drinkin' the nog while shopping.

My horoscope said that when the moon and Mars are in such sharp juxtapostion, it was very bad luck to take photos of the sky; otherwise, I would have.

Just kidding.

Pretty neat shot, Gus. I might've been tempted to Photoshop a little red into Mars there!

I was all set to go for the full moon, but Mr. Cloud decided to come and dump some snow on us. I spent a couple of hours with the snowblower instead of the k10d.

Mike and Mlpmail

Nice shots. Mike I guess the clouds allowed you to expose for the moon and still have mars look red? I like the clouds on your shot.

And Mlpmail, welcome to you and your first picture post. Shooting moonshots are tough and you are brave to have a moon shot be your first...

Welcome and here is to many more in the new year.

abstract + what the hell is that = awesomeness

I love that photo!

If I remember I will post either a photo (if it turns out) or short vid from the Kx through my 1250mm f13.9 telescope this morning! I was walking my dog and the moon was bright and contrasty - lost some of that by the time I brought him in and went back out, but still pretty cool to watch the moon move through the frame on the video. I will get around to it later!
