A Norwegian Christmas
Posted By: libbe, 12-24-2007, 06:21 PM

Probably a bit different from you guys overseas! We have dinner and open our packages on Christmas eve, then at "Christmas morning" we have have breakfast together and go to our aunts for dinner where we usually get served reindeer-meat.

Dinner table

Living room (I have no idea how the small light "rays" appeared in the image)

The food; STEAMED sheep, steamed potatoes, mashed Rutabaga ( Rutabaga - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ), sausages, aquavita and beer!

Christmas-tree with presents

Living room from another angle

Me dressed as Santa, visiting my small cousins with my AGFA FILM BAG

Family picture, me on the left

All images were taken with the DA18-55, some with the onboard flash (i'd love to have my 540 here right now, sadly it's stuck in customs in Oslo)

Hope you enjoy, and feel free to comment on whatever it may be; exposure, general composition, WB, national differences etc.

I do know what rutabaga is but I can clearly say that I have never eaten steamed sheep!

By the way, you have a nice house. (It looks like an Ikea catalog!)

Merry Christmas!

Ah yes. We open gifts on Xmas eve after buffet hosted by my sister, breakfast hosted by same siter. Xmas morning sister, husband and kids open THEIR presents. Evening, to my brothers for dinner and more exchanges.

You have a very beautiful house (I could never have my place that organised AND clean for more than 2 hours, maybe 3) AND a very beautiful family.

The shots are excellent but (sorry) the Xmas tree shot must have been taken after a few beers. I love the windows and can just imagine the light which comes into the house.

Merry Xmas to you and yous and for inviting me into your home.
